Beschreibung: Meet Luke Thill, who at age twelve started working on his very own tiny house- one a mere 5' by 10', but with a sleep loft, transforming dining table, and even a small kitchenette. At age thirteen, using money from summer lawn-mowing jobs, and bartering (electrical wiring help in exchange for cleaning out a garage in one case), Iowa's Thill completed his tiny house- one that he calls the practice precursor to a future "real" tiny house he plans on designing and eventually living in.

Derek "Deek" Diedricksen (Relaxshacks, author of "Microshelters"), talks to Jess Sullivan, who alongside her partner Dan, built a gorgeous tiny house on a farm in Rhode Island. Jess and Dan's tiny house is off-grid, with an array of solar panels, a water purifier, and employs a wealth of salvaged building materials, and clever upcycling. The beauty of this wooden hanging sphere shelter brought tears to our eyes when we saw it in person. It's an elegant, magical, hand crafted tiny house that hangs completely suspended from the trees around it. You can visit Free Spirit Spheres online at They're located near Qualicum Beach (on Vancouver Island) in British Columbia, Canada. In this video we're giving you a full tour of the interior of 2 spheres and we think you'll love them! These wooden spheres, and later, fibreglass spheres, were built by a creative engineering genius named Tom Chudleigh. He didn't only build the sphere structures, but he also built all of the unique space saving furniture inside and sculpted and cast his own bronze hardware for the doors and windows. Tom and his wife are wonderful free spirits who welcomed us to their property to visit their spheres named Melody and Eryn during housekeeping hours. These spheres are so popular that they're almost completed booked year round. If you're interested in checking them out on your next visit to Canada's West Coast, check out their website & Facebook page below: Free Spirit Spheres: These spheres were featured in one of our favourite books, Lloyd Kahn's "Builders of the Pacific Coast.
